“Ashaadhi Ekadashi” celebration
on July 8, 2006 provided an excellent setting
for the inauguration of the Marathi Vishwa Library
in MVCC. The library has over 1500 books in various
categories, such as, Katha Kadambari, Kavita,
Aitihasik, Dharmik, Travel, Pauranik and many
more. Please come and experience the beautifully
furnished interior and borrow books for your reading
pleasure. The library will initially be open during
the one hour before and one hour after most of
the programs held in MVCC. The primary condition
for borrowing is that you have to be a Marathi
Vishwa member for the upcoming year. After completing
a simple registration form that outlines the library
operation rules, you will be able to borrow two
books at a time for up to 4 weeks. Once the library
operation gets streamlined and the demand picks
up, we will decide on appropriate library hours.
If you would like to volunteer your time for the
library, please let us know your availability
at marathivishwa@yahoo.com or give any of the
MVBOD members a call. Looking forward to hearing
from you!
A few library books are available
with Ravi and Varsha Gadgil. Please call (732)
767-0638 if you want to borrow any books from
them.
New operating hours for the library:
Every second Sunday 10am-12 noon.
Dates for 2008: May 11, June 8, July 13, Aug 10, Sep 14, Oct 12, Nov 9, Dec 14.
